Interested in running Windows 7 on your Mac OS X laptop or desktop without having to restart into BootCamp? The newest version of VMWare Fusion adds support for advanced Windows 7 features including: Aero, Flip 3D and 64-bit versions/applications.

VMWare Fusion 3 costs $80, but a free trial is available here. Personally, I find the program preferable to Boot Camp for administrating Windows networks and running Windows-only programs which are not too resource-intensive. I have run AutoCAD and Solidworks with VMWare Fusion on a MacBook Pro with 4GB of RAM installed (2GB allocated for Windows, 2GB for Mac OS), but generally it’s a better idea to switch to Boot Camp when running intensive applications like these.
